Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Adane Best last Saturday proved to his fans and Ghanaian music lovers all across board that, he is the best when it comes to live band performance.

At the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Experience Concert held at the Independence Square in Accra, he thrilled fans with Jata Bi and many other songs.

His dance moves, energy and all the hit songs he dropped were enjoyed by everyone. He performed songs like Mama Mia, Gyata Bi, Maafio, W’ano Pe Asem, Suumo among others.

There were generally good performances from the likes of Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Tinny, Adina, Empress Gifty Adorye, Kwesi Arthur, Akesse Brempong, Bongo Blay and others.

The Experience Concert was aired live on TV3, DSTV Channel 196 and GOTV Channel 129 with support from Media General, YFM, DSTV, GOtv, KPMG, Graphic Showbiz and proudly connected by Vodafone.

The main awards for the VGMA according to Organizers will come off on May 18 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Afro beats singer Kelvyn Boy has claimed that it’s been a long time since he heard a real dancehall song in Ghana. Speaking with Jay Forley on Joy Prime, he disclosed that everyone is doing afro beats now that’s why all the songs are having the same BPM. “It’s been a long time, it’s been a very long time since I heard a real dancehall song in Ghana. Award winning gospel artiste, Patience Nyarko has been in the news this week for many reasons. This time on Radio Central in Cape Coast, she hammers on why language is not a barrier in gospel music. Speaking with Amansan Krakye she stated that language must not be a bother to gospel musicians. “Gospel musicians must not worry about language, they should focus on what they think can get the message across to people,” Patience stated. The “Obi Nyane Me” hit maker further explained that, be it Twi or English all gospel musicians have one purpose. “If you sing in English and I sing in Twi, I believe the only goal is to win souls for Christ, and God knows why he gave those languages.
